Thor's Helmet, also known as NG 2359, is an emission nebula in the constellation Canis Major. The nebula is approximately 12 thousand light years away and 30 light-years in size. The central star is a Wolf Rayet star. Wolf-Rayet stars are hotter than almost all other stars and are thousands of times more luminous than the sun.
