The Triangulum Galaxy is a member of our local group of galaxies along with the Milky Way and Andromeda. It’s the smallest of the three with a diameter of 30,000 light years. Triangulum is characterized by areas of active star formation. These stellar nurseries show up in red due to high concentrations of ionized Hydrogen.
